VICE CHANCELLOR CELEBRATES HER 1ST WORK ANNIVERSARY AT THE FACULTY OF AGRICULTURE, RUSL…

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. G. A. S. Ginigaddara, completed her first year in the position on the 13th of December, 2022. A celebration was organised at the auditorium of the Faculty of Agriculture on the 15th of December at 10 am with the participation of the academic and non-academic staff as well as the students of the faculty. On behalf of the faculty, the dean, Dr. GV.T.V. Weerasooriya, expressed appreciation for the Vice Chancellor's unparalleled dedication to the University during her time in that position. Speaking on behalf of the faculty's non-academic personnel, Mr. Chandana Fernando addressed the audience. The Vice-Chancellor received greetings from Mr. Randika Jayawardana, the president of the student council of the faculty.

During her one-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor, the University underwent significant advancements amid difficult circumstances brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic and the country's economic crisis. The establishment of the sustainable agro-production model farm and apiary project, the introduction of "Rajarata Compost," the commercialization of RUSL research outcomes, the introduction of RUSL research excellence awards, and collaborations with local and international federations related to many advantageous projects are well highlighted among them.
