Energizing the university - community interconnection and ratifying the responsibility of an agricultural education institute towards the adjoining environment, the 3rd year students of the faculty of agriculture have organized a farmer training class as a practical component parallel to the course unit of "Developmental Extension and Agricultural Institutes". The program was conducted at the faculty premises on 22nd of December 2016, under the supervision of academic staff members of the department of Agricultural systems led by the head of the department, Dr. (Mrs.) G.A.S. Ginigaddara and the course coordinator Mr. Amila Lankapura.
Nearly 100 farmers, mainly from Bandarapuliyankulama and paniyankadawala villages attended to this event. The Office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture (Inter Province) of the North central province assisted the students in assuring the much-needed participation of farmers.
